Blog of the Week: Chris Townsend

If you haven't heard of Chris Townsend then you probably should of, and if you have then you will know him as the Gear Editor of TGO Magazine .  Chris' knowledge when it comes to the outdoors, and backpacking in particular, is verging on Loch Ness-like in it's depth.  A lifetime of backpacking in the UK and all around the world, including many of North America's Long Distance Trails (and we really do mean loooooong distance!)  has given Chris the experience to sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to practical gear for the mountains.

As well as his monthly gear tests and writing in TGO, Chris has penned a number of guidebooks which have become indispensable for the areas he covers.  He also gives lectures on many of his treks, where you can see some of his breathtaking landscape photography.
