Original Mountain Media Frenzy

As most of you will now be aware, this years Original Mountain Marathon (formerly the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon or KIMM) was cancelled part way through due to extremely bad weather.  The mainstream media picked up on this story and for a while the OMM's organisers were subjected to a barrage of sometimes ill informed accusations and comments.  A little more balance came to the fore when the author of Feet in the Clouds (an excellent book on fell running) wrote this piece in the Independent.

The one truly positive thing to come out of all of this has been the creation of this 'Just Giving' page to allow people to donate money to the Lake District Mountain Rescue Teams.  So get giving!
